Doesn't it seem odd that the same sort of "global demand" that continually improves the electronics technology, stimulates competitive pricing to the consumer, and SUBSTANTIALLY results in the steady DECLINE in product cost - is largely the SAME AS oil related "global demand" that screws over all societies in our world with steady upward spiraling pricing, controls the economies of individuals as well as entire continents and their governments - all to enrich the few at the expense and suffering of the many...

And we dummies are all supposed to simply accept it as "Capitalism at it's finest" - and a normal effect of the rising costs of inflation. Sure odd that the computer and related electronics industries have so magically avoided the lure of Capitalism and inevitability of inflation... ;)

Not a "fair comparison"? WELL, it's EVERY BIT as fair as comparing the price of energy with the price of bottled water, beer and Levis - as the Big Oil sympathizers love to do... :p

I am just guessing here, but... ... . most products/electronics have a used/recycle value and most people will buy or not buy based on cost or perceived need. "Oil" jeeze, we all gotta have it!! :) Levi's, dang i wish, i gotta buy Dickeys!! ;)
