Durango Full size; where are you?

I've decided to begin doing my own oil changes. This is my first try. My question is, how many grease fittings are there and where are they on a 97 3500?

I also had a prime lock installed about six months ago. Unfortunately, I never got the directions back so I am not sure how to change the filter. Do I just spin it off, fill it with diesel and spin it back on. Also, on the bottom of the filter is a valve that I push in so I can let any collected water out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't mess with filling the fuel filter, of course in it's original location it would be just about impossible. I just install it without tightening all the way, then push the primer button until it's full, then tighten it.

Be sure to fill the oil filter before install and do it without getting any foreign material in it, the center goes straight to the motor. I usually fill it to about half an inch from the top, this way I don't make a mess getting it where it goes.

Thanks Steve. I just moved here from IA about 10 months ago. I lived in Ankeny. At least the winter is a little better than last winter.

Unlike most people I have not had too many problems changing the fuel filter on my '95 Dodge/Cummins. This is because I am tall and can reach it, and also because of my training... Several years ago I had a girlfriend who had a 76 Jag with a Chevy 350 stuffed into it. Before I restored the car it ate oil and spit out spark plugs, and I was changing #3 & 8 plugs about once a month. Any man who can do that for love can change ANYTHING

After cleaning the metal housing and installing the new filter, I fill it maybe half way or so with fuel. I then put it in the platic bag the filter came in. Carefully, I crawl under the truck and set it up on the frame. Returning to the top, I finish the install. The bag keeps dirt out, catches errant drops and by partially prefilling, I don't have to prime as long.
