Anyone see a warranty problem/hassle if I used Amsoil 15w40 synthetic with the Mopar filter and had it changed by the Dealer every 7500 miles (7500 is the longest for my truck covered under warranty)? Trucks a daily driver no hauling or pulling and not much city driving. I want to keep my 5 year 100K mile warranty in effect and don't want to fight with any dealers. What does the Amsoil synthetic cost per quart? Could the Dealer give me any problems about API certification? I have 14K miles on my truck now so I would have to wait until it is broken in before the switch to synthetic. What mileage would that be since I don't pull or haul with this truck? Thanks for your input.

I am basically doing the same thing, but I supply the Fleetguard filters to save a few pennies. API certification is not required according to the owner's manual. I have had two dealers do my oil changes with Amsoil, and they did not have any problems with it.

What does it cost you. I'm now spending without a coupon (got several when I bought the truck) around $50

The dealer here in Tucson will change the oil (labor only) for less than $20. I can get it done for free at the dealer where I bought my truck, but it's in Denver.

warranty... ... ... ... ... ..... ? warranty... ... ... ... ... ..... ? What warranty, you have obviously have never tried to collect on your warranty.

Synthetic Oil

I use Valvoline Extreme Blue Synthetic oil for that reason

because it is tested and suggested by Cummins. That way there can never be a problem with waranty.
