I don't drive the truck much during the winter months. It only has 1500 miles on it since the last oil change 6 months ago. All of the trips have been been long enough (20+ miles) to warm up the engine fully. No trailer towing during this time.

I would normally change the oil after 6 months, regardless of mileage. Should I change the oil or wait a couple more months? [I use regular, not synthetic oil. ]

Truck has 16k miles on it.

Thanks!

Heating and cooling of the motor creates condensation which inturn creates sulphuric acid which will eat the babbit in your rod and main bearings. This will not happen over night but that is the main reason for the time limit on oil changes.
