Ah ha, I got the time intervals confused with the hours. Thanks John.
The DD 5 and 8 series are up to 18 months/1800 hours. Those engines have some pretty new tech compared to the ISB tho.
Cummins recommendation in the 19+ Ram is 500 hours.
Okay. It’s not worth wandering off the page to cite non-pickup uses unless details known (was only point). Too many differences in apps.
The newer Class 8 I’ve been in looks like 1,500-hrs. Usually 60k miles for OFL.
Anything produced after Aug 30th of the calendar year is considered the following year model. Anything before that date stamp is usually considered a half model current year. At least that's what they used to do when I worked at dealers. Maybe someone else can chime in with current practice. JM2C

Does anyone know of any '98 Ford Powewerstroke's that exist???
I ran a bypass on my 05 and don’t on my 18.
With modern oils and filters they aren’t nearly as effective as they were on older oil and filters, such as the CH and earlier oil era. CI oils started have additives that combatted soot thickening, making it very difficult to filter out even with a bypass. Fast forward to CK oils and those additives are even better. This is why oil stays jet black on current trucks, with or without a bypass.
3 gallons for 6.7L is a decent ratio, engines that use more oil have more displacement and often more power. It’s all relative.
No reason to be scared of 500 hours with cheap oil, and T6 isn’t cheap. Do an oil analysis and you’ll see that it’s not necessary to change the oil prior to 12 mo/15K miles/500 hours.
