Competition Spanked a Mitsubishi Galant tonight!

Off Roading Steel wheels ...

To those who are running large injectors... ... . how often do you change your oil? (miles, hours, number of pulls, etc)

Sean

How about - whenever a breakage / carnage requires it?

Or - every 5 events... . whichever comes first. :D

That's a good rule of thumb..... cheap insurance.

formula, I ran bully dog 7's for 1700 miles last fall, and I dyno'd drag raced, and blew smoke a lot. I ran dd3's the rest of the time. I got my oil sampled with 3500 miles on it,the sample came back fine, soot levels were 1/2 way to the maximum safe threshold. I thinlk all these posts about sooting your oil are to scare you. My last sample I just got back,it had 7200 miles on the oil,all with dd3's,and this was all winter long,I plow snow,so 7200 miles is probably like 12000 for a normal truck. My truck runs about 25 hrs a storm, and only gets 125 miles on it tops. I had 275 hrs of plowing on that oil+_ the other 6000 or whatever miles. The sample came back perfect as well. I use Shaeffers oil,and there lab, they set my oil change interval at 7200 miles, with either bd7's or dd3's. So i now follow that, and ill stil sample once in a while. I was amazed at how low all the levels were in my engine, considering how har dit gets run occasionally, and themods done to it. I use fleetguard microglass oil filters exclusively. Ill dig up the samples later if you want the exact numbers. If my truck is an indication of what normal is,I wouldnt change your oil any sooner that you normally would, but only a sample can tell you for sure.

I had to stop using the expensive stuff because of the soot levels in my oil. I changed every 1000 miles during race season, every 3000 miles off season.

Eric, with all that fuel your P pump can deliver,I bet you need to let some oil out after a few runs, you must have 50% fuel in the oil after a few hard blasts!:D . I was amazed my soot levels, and fuel levers werent higher. I guess that says something for bully dog injectors.
