I see the procedure to reset the fuel filter monitor but not he oil filter life. My manual tells how to turn off the oil change light but I am changing well ahead of the mileage requirement due to the 6-month schedule and it does not say how to reset the oil life monitor. So my question is...will the oil change monitor reset with the same procedure as the fuel monitor or will it reset by going thru the oil change light process. Or some other procedure? I was hoping somebody else would ask this question when the thread on the 6-month change came about but no such luck.

Please advise this dummy and maybe enlighten others on how to do this. Thanks.

Mike

Guess I will go to the other forum and ask this question. Doing the oil change tomorrow so need to know this.

Easy:
>Put the vehicle into "Run" position (do not start).
>Once in run, actuate the throttle pedal from no throttle to full throttle 3 times within 10 seconds.
>Shut off the truck.
>Your oil gauge should be reset then.

Thanks but the procedure I need is for the oil, not the fuel. I found the fuel procedure in the manual but not the oil. The manual only addresses the oil light if it has been tripped. The procedure might be the same but it is not explained.

I don't know about the throttle trick on the 13-14. The procedure to clear that I know works is from the EVIC. I have done two 13s. Same as the fuel filter clearing procedure, but you have to switch off, then back on to see it cleared. Switch to "ON", select oil filter life, press the > and hold 3-5 seconds, release, switch vehicle off, then back on and it should read 100%.

I have a 2014 that has 3200 miles on it (3 months old). On the EVIC the oil filter showed 79% left. I wanted to change the original oil, and my local Dodge dealership here in Reno was offering a special for $49.00. I could not pass up this deal. The dealership also updated my on board computer with new updates. With all that said, once I got home, I noticed they did not reset my Oil filter life on the EVIC. I simply hit the Oil filter reset button but it prompted me to turn ignition on with out starting the engine then hit the reset button. Once this was done, my oil filter was reset to 100%.
I did not have to follow the procedures to reset the oil filter life as mentioned in previous posts.

Thanks to all for the reply. I should be able to reset with this info. I sure wish I could get that $49.00 deal. But I don't want to get any TSB flashes since my truck has been okay except for the throttle lag, dead pedal mentioned in previous posts and they don't have a cure for that. I can't trust them to leave it alone.
