I changed my oil and over filled by 1/2 qt. What problems will this cause. Just blow by? Should I try and drain some ouT?

Thanks

Jim

For 1/2 quart over i would not be overly concerned, the dipsticks frequently are innacurate to begin with. Its easy enough to just loosen the drain plug and let some oil run out just to lower the level a bit for piece of mind.

I've had no problems putting in 12 quarts since it's a lot easier to just buy 3 gallons of oil. After 5,000 miles you burn a quart out anyway.

I went 10k between oil changes and did'nt lose any oil. In my 2 years and 36k miles i have never had to add oil. Dont overfill with hope you will burn some off.
