Is there an oring that goes in these grooves

Are you still running your broken welded block? If so, that might be the source of the water/oil mix and not the oil cooler.

No o-rings. The rubber is made onto the gasket #12.

That could be bad although very possible.

The crack is in the water jacket no way for oil to mix there . And yes im still running it repair wowked

There is a large horizontal oil galley and 6 vertical oil galleries on that side of the block. If the crack migrated inward it could mix. I assume your cracked block is on the driver side?

Pass. side behind the heat exchanger is the usual spot.

Never heard of one cracking on the left. There’s already a big hole on the left covered by the tappet cover.
