oil drain plug specs.

Does anyone know what the torque spec. for the oil drain plug is? I think it's 40 ft/lbs, but I'm not sure where I got that from.

The manuals say 44 ft-lbs, but I use a short 3/8" ratchet and tighten until good and snug. In the past, the torque wrench said that was 30 to 35 ft-lbs and I have never had a leak. I don't even bother with the torque wrench now.



A little under the spec will not hurt anything - over torque can damage the drain plug.
