This will sound lame I know, but I need help from anyone willing to give it. I'm in the process of changing my oil, and I cant seem to get the drain plug out. Is there a special tool I need. Is it a allen wrench or something like that? This really makes me feel quite inadequate. All help will be greatly appreciated.

It's probably been tightened up to the wrong torque spec. The manual had it at 60LB. That's wrong. 30LB with do just fine. Anyway, you will need a long breaker bar and a 3/8" square drive for the square hole in the drain plug. Some people have replaced their stock drain plugs with quick drain levers. I don't trust those things and still have the stocker.

I use a 1/2" ratchet with a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. That way you can use a 1/2 breaker bar if necessary. I'm still using my original drain plug with no problems.
