Well after a month and a half I have finally transplanted the cummins into my chevy :D Then I immediatly had to install an Edge Comp box WOW!! what a difference! I did have a few questions though, what have been your experiences with the Mobil 1 oil filters? (Good, bad, none... ) Also what engine temperature do most of your trucks run and what is safe to run constantly? I ask this because I had to use a ford powdersmoker intercooler so that in turn meant a custom aluminum radiator that measures 31" wide, 19" tall and 2. 25" deep it is fully aluminum so I am hoping it will be sufficient will probably install a 180 degree thermostat tomorrow though. I will try to post some pictures soon. Sorry so long of a post and thanks.

1: Get the fleetguard stratospore from Genos $8. 95. I used the Mobile 1 filter once and my truck still runs.

2: I have the 190 t-stat and the temp is rock steady at 190. In 100 deg weather I have seen ~210 to 220 towing up a grade.

Pics would be cool! Mike

I put the 180* in my 2002 and like the lower engine temps. Obviously it does not add any cooling capacity but the radiator comes into play sooner buying you more time before it goes to the same temps over 200* if you are pulling heavy.

After I put it in I pulled heavy through the middle of Tampa FL on the surface streets in 98* to see what the difference would be. Never got over 180*. I also changed the fluid when I changed the tstat (2yo fluid, needed changing anyway).

12 OR 24 VAKVE FILTER

HOWDY. .

My local shop talked me in to using the Fleetguard LF-3994 OIL FILTER,,, (98 12-valve)

But I see that GENO'S selling the but says for the 24 valve???

Is there any difference or am I using the wrong filter??

THANKS
