I wouldn’t do anything till a tear down.
If the block is fine, get a cast crank 383 kit, and do a build. You’ll have plenty more arm for grunt, and there’s nothing like pointing to your own engine.

Lol, now you're pulling me back the other way. Maybe I should start a poll.

I have considered the 383 option for a little more low end but it is a bit more money and complexity. A mild 350 will put out about all the torque those little 1310 u-joints can handle anyway. The Jeep has a nearly 70:1 gear reduction in low so more power really isn't an issue, drivability is foremost.

I'm not making any decisions until I get the engine out and figure out what happened, we're agreed on that. Hopefully I'll have it out in the next month or so.

I have the Atomic EFI on it now. The "self learning" may be a little overrated but it works OK. There is definitely some tweaking to be done.
