I've had a leak between the oil filter and the mount (head) since my '98 was new. No one can seem to find the problem. After trying lots of advice I'm going to replace the oil filter head assuming there is a crack or pinhole in the casting. When I remove the unit are there any surprises behind it where the oil cooler is located? Should I use some type of gasket "dressing" on the new gaskets? What should I torque the bolts to that mounts the cast aluminum head? Should I torque the bolts in a cross pattern starting from the center out? Thanks
