OK, here's the question. It is necessary to do an oil change relatively soon, possibly before I can lay my hands on a fleetguard. What wi the best acceptable substitute. I am currently running "dino" and will change in 3K again.

No it is not necessary to do an oil change early. Use your best judgement and change it as close to the 7500 miles as you can and you will be just fine even if you go over that a bit.

I change oil and oil filter every 5000 miles. You can even go longer. See owner manual. I like Delo 400 15W-40 and Fleetguard. Grizzly :)

Try the Dodge dealer you bought the truck from. They are only $11. 00 (not really alot when you consider the price of the truck)
