just drained and removed oil filter and went to put on new filter and dont have one . can i use one off of a 12 valve on my 24 valve temp. i looked on genos site and it dont look like you could but i figured i would ask the pros to be sure.

the filter i got is lf3349. i called fleetgaurd and they said that it would work but i am still not sure. thanks for any input

I would make a quick run to the Dodge dealer or Napa. Would hate to toast the motor and warranty due to a $10 filter

i wish i could but everything is closed up now on the eastern side of the states. i just got putting it on and everything seems ok but you never know. i can get a new one tomorrow at work but i got to be able to get there first . so the worst case is it will be on there for seventy miles until it gets changed.

My experience says that you can... but that ain't worth much. I use Wix filters on all my trucks and equipment (No bashing please). I use Wix #51607 on my '92 and on my '99. The wix book calls for 51607 on both models, so I suspect that you will be fine. JMO.

I am not a filter expert but from what I was told the 24 valve filters are basically the same as the 12v filter except that the newer filter has a heavier base and a thicker housing to help hold up to more extremes. They will fit but it is up to you.
