Yep they have done something different with the media that still does an excellent job of flow but stops the dirt too. No washing and a slightly lower cost too.
Looks like they are finally trying to copy the AMSOIL Nanofiber filters that use Donaldson Endurance Nanofiber technology. No oil, no wet washing. Just blow out with 20psi of air and put it back on.
I ran a ProGard 7 with their pre filter for 2 years before replacing it with a Amsoil. It was dirty and cleaned up well. It takes a bit of time to clean, let dry and reoil. The pre filter stops the course stuff. I've been running the Amsoil for about 6 months and took it off a couple of times to see how it was doing and to blow it out. No dust gets by and it sure is easy to clean. Now we have another one.
Looks like the part # for existing Stage1 users would be 21-90028. Anyone know when that will be available? Anyone know what AMSOIL part number would fit the AFE Stage 1 intake?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the AFE Stage 1 intake a 4 inch OD tube? We'd need to know the OD of the intake tube (to determine the ID of the filter flange), and also we'd want to know the length the filter can be before fit becomes an issue. The best 4" filter is the 4090.
If you are looking for the AMSOIL Nanofibers, I can help with that, just shoot me a PM. If you are looking for the AFE filters/intakes, I'm sorry but I cannot help with that since I don't carry AFE at this time.
The new dry filters from AFE are pretty nice. As for as performance, they are in the middle of the standard AFE filter and the Proguard 7. They filter better than there standard filter but not as good as the Proguard 7. They do not flow as much air as the standard filter but flow more than the Proguard 7. I think you get my drift. It's in the middle.
I just got my new Amsoil dry filter in the mail yesterday, looks good. Need to install today. The price is good w\ shipping $56. 00. Good for 100,000 miles, they say vacume or blow out every 25000 miles.
