oil guage hash mark pressures?

Anyone have a clue as to what pressures the hash marks on my '89 oil guage correspond to?

On my 93 I measured 30 psi at idle just past the second mark in the "normal range" and about 65-70 just before the third mark at max rpm. It seems there should be a little more movement for the 40 psi difference but, then again, these are not precision guages.
