I have about 20 K on my 09 6. 7. When I had my intake hose off to install a heater cord I noticed that there was oil going into the turbo from the egr, I guess:confused:

Is this a common issue that is ok or is this something to be concurned with?

Thanks for any help

It's not from the EGR but from the crankcase. You might need to change the filter in the valve cover. You can read the pressure with the scan tool, but otherwise you have to guess when it's time. Also a LITTLE oil is normal, so before you get carried away, can you post a photo>

The breather filter on the valve cover is supposed to be changed at 3rd or 4th oil change. I was asking about the change intervals while at Cummins in Rock Springs today and they said around 500 hrs or so. The filter is around $70 from Cummins.
If interested, you can check engine hours by cycling key to run (without starting) and then hold trip reset for about 20 seconds and the hours will be displayed.

I will try to figure out how to post picks. Can you just let the vent tube go under truck like they used to go? Or is that a federal offence too?#@$%!

Thanks
