I was moving my fuel plate around and noticed some oil film on the heater grids and intake manifold. I had the aluminum intake housing off above the fuel pump, looked down hose to intercooler and had a small puddle of oil in the bottom of hose. I have not taken intake system off of compressor yet, but the last time I cleaned air filter I did not notice anything abnormal. I will check turbine shaft endplay and clearance. Could I have a dieing turbo :{ . What are symptoms.

Yeah sounds like seals are dying on the turbo, not much else it could be in the intake pipe. The problem is you'll need to take out your intercooler and clean it when you replace the turbo too, it's probably full of oil!

To really check if it's your turbo just take off the clamp on the first 90 degree angle intercooler tube coming off the compressor housing of the turbo and see if there's oil inside.

A stock HX35 turbo can handle that. With 300 HP you'll have more like 700-750 ft/lbs. And the very most I'd go with a hybrid turbo like the dodgezilla with the 14cm wastegated housing, no need for a turbo large enough to take an HX40 downpipe with anything less than 350-400 HP.

Ok, Thanks for the info. I am a little bit short on the lingo your using, but i can manage to decipher most. I am trying to set my truck up for best reliability and fuel economy. Not trying to get to radical with power yet as this is my only truck right now. just want enough power to raise an eyebrow or two. I think I have met my power goal though :-laf . I will be anxtious to know what this thing dynos at. my next and final upgrade for now will be 4" exhaust. where can i get a good system... also will it drone like the 3" does or will I need a muffler/ resonator. Oo.

4'' is a much deeper and throaty sound, 3'' straight pipe sounds tinny and crappy. My 4'' system has a straight through type muffler, whatever you do don't get a chambered or path muffler they are no good. I'd try straight pipe 4'', much better than 3''.
