I had my oil changed and the individual managed to over fill it by about one quart. I'm using the crosshatch as a guide, the manual says the crosshach equates to 2 quarts. After an overnight sit on level ground it is about 1/2 of the length of the crosshatch beyond the end of the cross hatch. The manual says this could cause foaming. I'm hitting the road tomorrow. Am I taking a chance by leaving it over the mark? This engine just doesn't use oil so it will stay that way until the next oil change.

I've heard a lot of people say they use a full 3 gallons when they change oil which would be a quart over. The first time I let an oil change shop do mine (I've let someone else do it exactly twice) they overfilled it and I had no problems. You might rev it up to 2500 or so,shut it off and immediately check the dipstick for foam. A Fumoto drain valve would sure come in handy for you.

I think it will be fine. There is alot of oil that stays up in the engine when its running so i dont see it hitting the crankshaft or anything like that.

That Fumoto drain valve would be handy now, but I've always been afraid to use one for fear of somthing hitting it and opening the valve. I must admit that I've never seen one except in a picture. I replaced the factory drain plug with the one from Geno's. That bugger won't let go of any oil until its completely unscrewed! Even the factory plug would start flowing without removing it completely. I

I installed a Fumoto drain valve. It's awesome. It has a safety on it. The turn key has a latch that needs to move up before the valve is turned. No more leaking drain plug gaskets.

1 Quart will not not be a problem. But if you dont care to take it on a trip just change the oil filter and you will be good to go.

I have a filtakleen by-pass filtration I have used 3 gallons since day 1 with zero problems with really good oil analysis numbers. :)
