Hey Guys need some brainstorming

I have a 98. 5 stocker 4x4 automatic

I WAS CHANGING THE FLUIDS A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND THE FRONT AXLE

CASE WAS LOW SO I FILLED HER UP. YESTERDAY I WAS DOIN THE transmission AND CHECKED THE AXLE AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY  THERE ARE NO LEAKS THAT I CAN SEE, NOTHING ON EITHER END OF THE TUBES ,THE COVER DOESNT LOOK LIKE ITS LEAKING AND THE SEAL BY THE DRIVE SHAFT LOOKS GOOD. ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEA WHERE THE GL IS GOING I AM GETTING NEW GASKETS TODAY TO TAKE THE COVER OFF THE FRONT AND CHECK FOR DAMAGE OR WEAR

THANKX FOR ANY IDEAS DIRK

There is no other place it could go, axle seals, diff cover or pinon shaft

thats a strange one !

look at it again it must be comming for some where.

hope you find the problem !

I had an axle seal go bad - it was hard to see (at first) but check behind your rotors. Sometimes if it's leaking it slings the oil away. Mine looked a little damp, didn't think much of it until I checked the level...

There is also a vent tube that I think is up by the front passenger side wheel well. I have on occassion puked fluid out of that but dont see how it could empty it. I would check behind the rotors as stated earlier.

Well now that i scrubbed up the undercarriage to a gleaming shine ,i took it for a 50 mile raceride and i have some oil either out of the bottom of the cover or from the rear seal. Hard to tell which one as the wind will blow around so will replace both gasket and seal. I was expecting to find the trouble at the ends,

thanks for your imput.
