Had the transmission servce today everthing ok change fluid and filter. Tech call me in shop to show me small oil leak from hose on pside side of engine we trace hose to driver side comes out side of engine on side towards back and goes to passenger side. what is the hose for? i think this is were the oil

comes from drips down to bell housing of transmission ,not a lot of oil just like dampest on transmission bell. Might we a loose clamp just want to know what hose if for looks to be 1/2inch in size. This was at a transmission shop not D dealer.

There are no oil system hoses that run from the driver's side to the passenger side. The only oil hose is the turbo bearing supply line, which runs from the oil filter mount to the turbo (and the return line that leaves the turbo and goes down to the pan).

Are you sure you weren't looking at the crankcase breather? That might create the "leak" you describe. If so, it's completely normal.

Took the truck to d. d they said nothing to be concern about,it is the breather tube. Thank for the comeback.

In the case of a 6. oh-no, they have that "self draining" oil system! :-laf

They are very easy to change the oil in ;)

Now we know how they get such high drain intervals on the 6. oh-no's... ..... After all you are constantly adding fresh oil
