Just noticed a small puddle under the truck tonight.

Looks to be possibly coming from the back side of the oil filter, but tough to nail down in the dark w/ a flashlight. Checked the filter and its pretty tight, but my filter wrench was on its last leg, and couldnt get it any tighter. Was thinking if it was the top seal of the filter leaking, wouldnt I see oil around the top rim of the filter?

Wont be able to get to it for awhile, and had a trip coming up soon. Its gonna bug me till I can verify. Guess Ill keep the trip plans on.

Just hoping its the filter I guess, was looking for some other opinions till I can get to it.

have you changed the filter lately?? there have been cases where the gasket on the old filter stuck to the base, and the new filter screwed on . will leak for sure.

And the winner is... Tejas Deezul.

Just following up...

The leak ended up being the turbo return hose clamps. They were not very loose, but loose enough to leak.

Since there was oil all over the hose & the block right there, I wasnt sure that was the problem at first, but tightened the clamps, cleaned the mess, installed a new filter, thinking Ill get a new oil hose for the turbo return and replace it next if the problem is still there, or next time the filter is replaced.

Problem is gone (so far).

Thanks for the replies. They were all good.

Shucks... I couldnt win a black eye in a prize fight. What did he win anyways? Glad to hear you got it taken care of, and it wasnt too big of a deal.
