Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) oil leak @ drain plug

I changed my oil the other day and installed a new plug and gasket from Geno's. Yesterday I found oil leaking around the plug so I tightened the plug a little. Still leaking today. The old plug had a paper/felt like gasket on it. The new one has the rubber gasket. What can I do about my oil leak?

I have to use a little Permatex non hardening gasket sealer to keep my plug from dripping.

I may have to try the permatex. I am just wondering why Dodge or Cummins changed the washer style?
