I don't know how to link to my old post so to see the full story look under (Need Help Oil Leak). This trip to Dealer #5 was like leading a horse to water. I had to suggest for them to run it to see it leaking, also had to leave my black light and yellow glasses with them because they didn't have one. I finally was able to pick up my truck on 01-03-03 and this is what they found. An O-ring was missing that seals the opening between the adaptor plate and Cam on the engine block. I know this for a fact because I was there when they pulled off the adaptor plate and I took pictures. I never got oil on my clutch. Now I will try to attach my pic.

On the adaptor plate you will see a cut out ring on the upper right side--this is where the O-ring should have gone. On the engine block pic you will see the cam opening on the left side. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Unbelievable!

Have to commend you for sticking with it till the right people listened.

Was your truck St. Louis or Satillo-built?

Come to think of it, I've been wondering if the trucks with low fluid in the axles and trannys were US-Built or Mexico, or both?

Anyway, hope you have done all the de-bugging required for the life of the truck!

Just a dumb question to make this question of where it was built. Shouldn't that part been put on at the Cummins Plant in the good old USA?

Since it's an adapter plate, seems like it would be different manual or automatic, but I could be wrong... also seems like Cummins wouldn't ship the engines with the back of the cam open... Hmmm.

Anybody know?
