ok i have devloped an oil leak not bad but there at first i thought it was because my valve cover gaskets wherent totaly sealed since i noticed it after i adjusted my valves but when i crawled under the truck the otehr day i found it coming from the blow by tube so now im wonder what could casue this and how do i make it go away i don't like it when my baby is leaking anything i have no ideas on this so any help in solving this would be great thanks in advanced matt

All have a small amount of oil that drips out the blowby tube. If it has suddenly increased, I'd check for a vacuum leak. The pump vents into the crankcase and blowby will increase if a vacuum line is off or has a hole in it.

Other most common possibility is ring wear, it goes downhill from there.

FleetGuard makes product called EnviroGuard that replaces the vent tube and captures the oil, then returnes it to the engine. I've read good things about it.

Good luck, RR

Matt,

Are you sure it's coming from INSIDE the vent hose and not the outside? My vacuum pump leak got to the point that the oil was getting on the vent hose and dripping from it. Might be worth another check.

ill look again more closely this weekend but to me it looked like it was inside the tube and also this is an increase im noticing becasue i can see a spot on the ground where it leaks when i stop and also there oil all over the under side of my truck which wasn't there on inspection when i bought it a few months ago

The red spot is where the vacuum pump will leak. Also check the timing pin which is above and to the passenger side from where the vacuum pump mounts to the fron cover. You might also check the oil supply hoses that connect to the back of the injector pump between it and the engine and the one for the vacuum pump which connects to the backside of it, betwwen it and the engine.

Good luck,

Scott
