Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) oil leak

I have a '96 12 valve and I'm losing oil somewhere on the drivers side of the engine. Can't pinpoint it yet. The crankcase is full on the dipstick but when I idle or just above idle the oil light comes on. When I rev up the engine the lite goes off. Major dripping.

With your oil light coming on, I think you may have a oil pressure sending unit leaking. It is on the driver's side at the rear of the power steering pump.
