Dont have one yet but looking. Found an 1992 w-20 that has 145k. Body good with some flaws, yat I noticed oil drip at pan and the steering pump is wet on top. Cant define the source of leak on engine but am told it is usually the valve cover. Also I was told that if the rear seal is leaking it has been used pretty hard. The truck is club cab, 5 spd,am/fm/cass,ford 40/20/40 seat, fendrs and door hinges upgraded by dodge, all elec optns. Price 12k. Is this a good price, can I fix the leak inside of 12 hrs labor, trans is tight and operating properly.

My '93 power steering pump stays moist all the time, probably capillary action.

Valve cover may well be the problem, check for fresh oil right below each valve cover gasket near the injectors. If it's wet it's the valve cover. Rear seals start to leak because of high mileage or they just want to. I don't see the connection between power level used and life expectancy of this seal. Keeping oil clean will help seals last. If you replace it, make sure it is installed on a perfectly dry crankshaft (use brake cleaner) and use NO lubricant of any kind on the seal.

Sounds unbelievable but it is in the directions and works!
