Folks at TDR,

Came out of my shop tonight and noticed what I think is an oil spot under the truck. The spot wasnt too little but wasnt big by any means, kinda looked like a old 8V71 after letting it sit overnight without a drip pan. Too dark and cold now to check, will check tomorrow how much if any oil was lost. What I am wondering, does the 24V leak or is notorious for leaking? Where should I start looking if the filter and pan check out? Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Kind Regards,

Sgt G

*UPDATE* It is NOT oil, but FUEL!!! It seems she only leaks when idling and not driving. Shut off, it doesnt leak... . hmm. I also lost roughly 1/2 lbs of fuel psi since I noticed it. Any new ideas? The drip is from the intake side. Just hope the VP isnt leaking. Could the recent cold snap in the south had caused a fuel line to burst a little? Any help again would be appreciated thanks!!

Check the lever on the fuel filter used to drain water and see if it is leaking. I stopped using the dang thing as it was prone to leaking after using.

How do you change your fuel filter if you don't use the lever to drain the canister??

Will remove canister top and pull out filter slowly and with rag get it away from truck. I then use a turkey baster and remove as much of the fuel as possible and the remainder with a lint free cloth. When installing, fill canister half full with clean fuel or even Power Service then put in new filter. Install cap and torque. Use LP to fill the rest of the way by bumping starter but not start until sure canister is full you can tell by change in LP noise and then start.

Sorry took so long to answer.

*UPDATE* The lever was found in the down and locked position? I am willing to entertain any and all ideas!!

Regards,

Sgt G

I have heard about leaks around the fuel heater on the sided of the canister. I am sure you have checked all the lines from injectors back to the input and output lines the the canister. Oh one other place I have heard about leaks and hard to find that is a T connection behind the heads which is part of the return fuel lines.
