I don't know if the adapter is available or not. If you machine just a little from the adapter, that would let the seal run on a different part of the shaft. My shaft had a groove wore in it about . 005 deep. I also noticed that the two assemblies are not made to index very concentric. There was quite a bit of leeway as far as the seal riding exactly centered on the shaft. I tried to get mine as centered as possible so the seal would run evenly around the shaft. Where they bolt together( the ps pump and the adapter housing) has some slop that could cause unequal sealing.
