Oil Leaks?

Of my four CTD's only one developed an oil leak. That was my '91. One of the valve cover gaskets needed to be replaced.



Otherwise, all my leaks have been other issues. A failed power steerin pump seals and two wheel seals.

Never had an oil leak in 3 CTD's other than the annoying breather pipe in the 94 and the 98. 5. Merry Christmas.

I assume this is for the 03 so none.

Valve cover leak at 300 miles. Pulled it off and checked seal. Appeared to be twisted. Reinstalled and dry now at 750 miles.

Thanks for the input, this was just because I saw something at work that I really didn't like the looks of. Seems to be a unique problem, enjoy your new rigs!

I know that makes me look like another flame/useless thread starter/unsound info generator, but what I saw was related to the new HPCR engine, but it was a rear gear housing 4 banger. It was leaking bad, and had low mileage. I just wanted to see across the board if this was just a localized problem, or if we were seeing something generalized. After looking at this thread, I would say don't worry about your 03'. I didn't want to say too much, and start an unjust panic.

Oh well, since my first post I just lost the hydraulic pump on my '03. So much for bragging about Dodge quality.
