I like the data/ info on the LE as it pertains to diff's. Is there a similar non synthetic you'd recommend for the Cummins during break-in ? What would you recommend after break-in and when ? My truck is breaking in very well, 19. 5 mpg, at 1250 miles, and I'm about to do the first change at 1500 w/Valvoline All Fleet Plus 15-40(and a stratopore). What do you think ? Thanks, Tom

Hemi; I haven't rea,,y been following the thread closely but as far as sourcing Lubrication engineers products take a look in your local industrial buyers guides or maybe even do a search - the product is used extensively in some industrial applications - as is Darmex, texas refinery and some others - there most likey is a rep in your area. I'm not endorsing use of the products since its not my area of expertiece but I do and have used them in my field and just thought I'd throw out that tidbit. Others may have improved answers.

LE 8800 15w-40 and Mobil Delvac-1 5w-40 are the oils that I would recommend.

If the Amsoil guys weren't so stubborn I might even recommend them, but they only know one way, the Amsoil way.

To Kevin,
As an Amsoil distributer,I realy don't think I am stuborn. I have read many articles concerning the benefits of synthetics versus petrolium oils, and most have said, there are great benefits with the use of synthetics. However, if you are going to stay with a 3-4,000 mile change interval, then the synthetics would not be as cost effective. They would still give you better efficiency, wear and protection. Mind you however, the only people that are recommending these change intervals are the oil quicklube businesses. I even E-mailed you for some information in writing, but you said you could not provide it! I'm talking about Facts, and not just hear say.
At least Amsoil Corporation will put the facts in writing, and no other oil Company has challenged them!

Amsoilman,
What facts are you talking about?

What info did you ask me for that I did not send? I have done my best to answer everyone that asks for info.

Sincerely, Kevin

Kevin,
I asked for some specification sheets for your Diesel Engine oils as well as your gear oils for automotive uses. I did not want the industrial lubes, just the automotive lubes.

I wanted something in writing that is published, and not just hear say.

Best regards,

Wayne
