Oil mix question

I have 8qts of synth blend. Are there any down sides to using this with 3qts of non synth same brand? Do not want to travel 3hrs one way for 3qts. TIA.

As long as the synthetic blend is the same brand and weight, you can certainly mix the syn blend with the traditional dinosaur oil.



Of course, make sure BOTH are diesel-certified oils. They should have CG-4 or higher certification. All of the synthetics around here, with the exception of Amsoil, appear to be SJ-rated oils for gasoline engines ONLY.

The synth is Valvoline Premium Blue 2000 15-40 the Dnyo oil is

Valvoline Premium Blue 15-40. Both diesel oil.



Bob! What oil do you have?



I will be going to the Willamate Valley the 17th but will not be near Eugene. Do not know who would have it except Cummins.
