I was coming in from Waco yesterday, when I noticed my clutch slipping slighty, I also have recently noticed a leak that looks to be my rear main seal leaking, or the front seal on the transmission, one of the two. Has anyone else had a problem with oil getting on thier flywheel or pressure plate?? Will it ruin my clutch if I don't fix it right away?? It only slips in 4th and 5th when I really get on it.

Figured out that it is transmission oil that is leaking, guess I have a seal out on the shaft. No HP for me till I get a chance to pull it and replace it.

When you pull in down... might as well change the rear main seal in the motor! I did mine when I did the clutch. It has just started to seep at 187,000... .

I lost the frot seal on my trany ( it took out the clutch also ) cost me about $1100 to fix the thing, all for a seal that cost only $11. 00. I was pi$$ed and Dodge would cover any part of it.

If the friction material gets oil on it, it slips and you can't clean it out.

(Edit)

I bought a GPz a bunch of years ago, it had leaking fork seals. The front brake pads looked to be a bronze metalic material. Since I had no $ and enough time, after I fixed the seals I tried all kinds of things to get the oil out. Nothing worked and I replaced them. Then they worked OK.
