Oil pan and transfer case replacement

Hey guys, my oil pan has a hole rusted in it and my t-case is shot. I need to know if there is anywhere to get a replacement oil pan rather than the dealer. They want $680 for the pan and $40 for the gasket, that seems absurd. Does anyone know of a place to get a pan alittle cheaper? Also, I've been calling salvage yards looking for a t-case and I can't find one anywhere on the east coast. I have the NP 271 D manual shift, and the dealer wants close to $2000 for that. Anyone have any ideas on where to get one of these, remanufactured or new for a better price? On Monday I will check with a local transmission shop and see what they say about rebuilding it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I need to get back on the road asap.

Yikes, I hope that doesn't happen to me. Any idea why your pan rusted through? Where's the hole?



If it were me, I'd pull the pan and weld a patch on. I mean, the pan is going to have to come off anyway, right?
