Oil Pan Removal Question???

[Challenger-II]

Does anybody know if the transmission has to be removed to get the oil pan off. My pan gasket is leaking from one of the bolts. Dealer wants to replace but says the trans has to come out. Man..... that is one long oil pan too!! First, I'm going to try retorqueing them.
