Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Spun bearing NV4500 -->Case may be bad

I replaced my lift pump and went for the test drive. The next time I started the truck I had oil pressure with engine not running. is there a wire or something I might have messed up with my fat hands while swapping the pump. it goes up about 3/4th way on the gauge and stays there. Is this just coincidence or did I mess something up?
