I'm at 25psi at idle once the engines warm. Every now and then it drops under 20 (at idle) and blinks the check engine light. Pressure's 45psi steady while driving. What's everyone elses pressure?

Rock steady idle at 750 RPM, no pressure fluctuation. Remember the gauge is damped and therefore slow to show whats really happening, you might want to have that checked.

Could be electrical, could be a real problem.

Haven't found a filter yet. I'm going to ask the local Cummins dealer tomorrow or Monday.

I e-mailed Cummins and they told me the spec oil pressure at idle is 10psi; so I don't think there's a thing wrong. In my opinion there'll be a re-flash for the ECM to recalibrate the oil pressure gauge. Although the last couple days the needle hasn't touched the lower hash. I'm also curious what oil viscosity was installed at the factory.

The pressure doesn't bother me, its the check engine light that does. The guage being damped and plc controlled shows an average pressure over X number of samples over X amount of time, but idiot lights are usually immediate. If the light is flashing, I'd be concerned.

Geno's Garage has them but they are not listed online. Email them for the numbers and prices. They emailed me the info but my hard drive went south shortly after so I can't get at the info for the time being.

If your check engine light is blinking, and you just paid $$$ for a brand new Cummins/Dodge.

Take it to the dealer, demand that they fix the problem.

Bye the way Cummins uses 15w40 at the factory.
