My Oil pressre gauge has been acting up. 1st time it happened my son was driving and he said the check gauges light & buzzer came on, he shut the truck down, checked the oil, it was fine, started it up and the gauge worked. Next it would go to zero pressure after about 30 seconds of running. Now it does not show pressure any time. I am sure that the oil is pumping, but I don't want to run it like this. Anybody have any ideas, where is the sending unit?

1. What year and model truck do you have?

2. There are a series of bad oil pressure sending units out there. There is a Dodge TSB for this problem, it involves re-flashing the ECM so when ever the engine is turning, it shows oil pressure. The actual fix requires changing the Oil Pressure Sending Unit. It costs around $60-$80 from Cummins.

It was the sendind unit. Replaced it, no more problems. $210 for the part at dealer, $84 @ Cummins. Whoa! And very friendly service!!
