Oil pressure guage acting up

My in dash oil pressure guage keeps flashing on and off. That little dingner is driving me nuts. I looked at it real quick, didn't find an obvious short, didn't have a whole of time though.



Could it be the oil pressure sender? The service manual is kind of vague on it or I'm not looking in the right section. Any of you had similar problem? Any advice? I'll look closer into this Monday(day off) in the mean time any tips you can offer would be apreciated.

I had the same problem on my "99 last year. The local dealer said the sensor was bad and replaced it under warranty. That was not the prob... ie gage still acted funny. The mech then took the connector to the sensor off , cleaned the contacts , added some elec contact grease , reinstalled... fixed the problem.
