Oil Pressure @ idle

What are you all running oil pressure wise at idle,I have about 470 miles on mine but @ an idle itis right on the low line,I was thinking of adding Amsoil 5W-30 after the 10000 mile brake in,but with pressure that low,wont 5W-30 make it even lower??

Don't rely on the factory gauge for reference. It's only a fancy idiot light with a needle that moves as engine speed changes to make us happy. If you want to know your real oil pressure then you need to add you own gauge.

I see on my oil filter housing there is a port,is this were I could hook up a mechanical gauge?

use one of the 1/8 pipe plugs on the cover.

I have an aftermarket gauge. Rock solid 20 psi at idle, increasing to a max of 65 psi at >1700 RPM (warm engine).
