Started to have erattic and then no oil presure indication on my gauge. Checked oil being delivered to valve area and drove home slowly.

Does anyone know what the resistance or voltage should be of the sending unit with no pressure and then at idle about 30lbs. ?.

If sender needs to be replaced who has the best price ?.

Thanks

My sender has had erratic performance for 100k miles. 99 percent of the time it works fine. I was told if the oil pressure really went to 0 the engine would make alot of noise and you would know something was wrong.

I got my last one at NAPA, as I recall it was under $30. I think Dodge sells them for around $70. Some have said the Dodge one is the best and lasts longer. Mine works fine so far and it's been on over a year.

I'm looking to get one as well. Do you know a part number? I called NAPA and they couldn't find one in their system for a 98. I figure that since this is the 24v forum, you are talking about a sending unit for a 24v. I did manage to get a NAPA PN of OP6670 for a 95 CDT Ram, but that would be for a 12v, would a 12v sender work on a 24v? They said that this 12v one would be $23

I'd like to get one for my 24v this cheap.

Thanks,

Nathan

I will go shopping tomorrow and see what I can find.

Mine did the same thing and As per TSB ..... No way ut uh not gonna plug into me there dodgeyboys. I knew it had to be something like a sender.

So I replaced it and bingo good to go!

Now I think I am going to change ALL the sensors at every oil change   (as I just puked a couple more... Like the KPS and possibly CPS)

I tried NAPA today and will try a few more part houses. If that fails Cummins will get my $$$$ instead of Dodge.
