My Oil pressure sending unit is bad as the pressure drops to 0 on the guage and the idiot light comes on a few seconds after it goes to full pressure . It wont work again till i shut down the engine and then restart and then the process starts all over again. Where is the sending unit ?I have the factory service manual but it only shows the one for gas engines. Thanks Arnie

Pretty sure (if my failing memory is correct) it's on the left side of the block under/behind injection pump.

It's just to the right of the power steering pump under the injection pump. It's hard to see without a mirror but you can feel it with your hand. To remove it you need to buy a special "oil sender socket" wrench available at most auto parts stores for about $8.

replaced sender

I found an oil pressure sending switch at a Napa dealer ,part number op6670 for 27 dollars compared to 57 dollars at dodge . There book only showed it up to 1995 so i took it home and tried it and the plug was the same and it was identical so its in and works fine . My pressure at idle is now about two pointers higher than 40 lbs. and when i rev it up it goes up quite abit more which it never did before . it always just sat at just over 40 lbs . Arnie
