Help!!!!I just installed a new oil pressure sender this afternoon after reading all the threads regarding guage failing. I picked up the sender from cummins using the part #4088390NX. After I installed the new sender I had high oil pressure as soon as I turned the key on and I thought it was a little strange. Then I went for a drive only to discover, ( as another member stated in his thread last year), that my truck was in limp mode for the first half a block and then all of a sudden the power picks up and it goes good until I stop at another light and then it does it all over again. How can changing the oil pressure sender cause it to have no power on take off? I called Piers at PDR who is about 5 miles away from me and he had never heard of such a thing either.

False alarm..... I called Piers back at PDR (Piers Diesel Research), when I discovered that I had boched things up and instead of putting the new oil pressure sender in the right spot I installed it into the boost pressure sender location, (they look identical and the wiring plug even fits it). once I corrected my screw up and got it into the right location lower down everything is ok. I guess the brain is too smoked up from fighting fires for 31 years. Sorry guys

You're not alone when it comes to screw ups! That's the price we pay as we age. I won't even go into my latest,, "brain fart", while installing my new FASS unit. Getting older is becomming more of a contest to see how long you can go with out pulling a real stupid, basic screw up!
