I removed my vacuum pump and decided not to remove the power steering pump. I am rebuilding the pump using the kit from Fixinrams.com, great kit by the way. In the process of removing the vacuum pump, I separated it from the power steering pump and bumped and broke off what I believe is the oil pressure sending unit.

I was able to unscrew the rest of the sender from the block. Does anyone know if this is only a dealer or Cummins item? I need to get it back together and don't know if either will be open tomorrow (the saturday before easter) so I can buy a new one.

Thanks

Craig

I got one at Carquest once and it was identical to what came from the dealer and cost more. It looked the same right down to the numbers.

Thanks for the help, I called Cummins Cal Pacific, they were closed, tried a few dealers in the area, closed too. Called Napa, they had one, but I should've done a stock check, when I got there it was not there. Fortunately, they called another Napa and that one had four. It was $35. 00, then I got an AAA discount that brought it down to $25. 00. I put it in after I reinstalled the vacuum pump and all is well.

As a side note, when I drove the truck, it had more power than when I took everything apart. In order to get the vacuum pump out, I removed the boost tube from the intercooler to the intake. When reassembling it I tightend everything up. I must have had a slight leak as now the boost seems to come on a bit sooner and less smoke.

Thanks again
