I've read about the low oil pressure/idiot gauge dilema, but does the same apply to high oil pressure? When the engine is cold (hot or cold ambient air temp), oil pressure at start up is in the middle of the high half of the normal scale (sounds confusing because guage only has 3 numbers). Unless it warms up at idle for 3 or 4 minutes, oil pressure will just miss hitting the top of the normal scale when revved or driven for the first few minutes. Does this seem normal? What kind of pressures is evevyone else seeing?

Normal

Yes, this is normal. Have to be careful with the rpm's till it warms a little as the oil filter can be damaged. bg

A properly functioning oil pressure relief valve should keep the oil pressure from going too high, even with a cold engine.
