Oil Pressure

Lately I have had problems with my oil pressure guage dropping all the way down and my check engine light comes on. I have checked my oil level and it is fine. This mainly happened after cruising on the freeway and then pulling off, once I hit the top of the exit ramp the guage would drop. Once I give it some throttle and pull away from the stop sign the guage goes back to normal. Yesterday this also happened while just idling in my driveway. What is causing this? Thanks for the replies.

Sounds to me that the electrical sending unit needs to be replaced. Mine did something like this and once I replaced it,,all was well with the world and the oil pressure. .
