Oil Pressure

My oil pressure guage fluxuwaits between 0 and 20 psi when my truck is running 70+ and turning above 2000 rpm less than that is is stedy at just over 40 psi. This just started. Any ideas? Its a 1996 with 320,000 and a 5. 9 liter engine.

Do you have access to a mechanical guage of some kind? I would hook one up first if possible to make sure it is an engine or guage/sensor issue.

I would check for wire damage at the sender. It sounds like engine vibration is causing inaccurate indication. The mechanical guage would confirm this, of course.
