Oil pump the same for a 1st gen and 2nd gen 12V?

Looking to get a used oil pump so I can modify it, so I can then prime my crew cab motor with a drill.



My motor is from a 97. Can I use a 1st gen pump or are they different? I cant see them being different but.....

The lube pump for an 89 CTD changes up to the one for a 97 so it it shouldn't be a problem. Shadrach
